The boys are doing well. They've both settled in really well. Jodi was so cute today when I fed and brought in horses. He came trotting up to the fence, stuck his nose in my face, and demanded to be brought in first. Who could resist that?
Melissa rode Jodi yesterday and he was really good for his first time in the arena. He was lazy, but he's old, he's allowed to be. Luke was kind of a brat yesterday so Mandi rode him for a few minutes and we were able to end on a good note.
I went out today to feed and after I was done, I hopped on Luke. He was really really good tonight. I rode him in a kimberwicke, and he was respecting me a lot more. We mostly trotted, did a little canter, and a couple trot poles thrown in, to see if he'd forgotten what they were. Nope, he's a superstar. Then one of the younger girls hopped on him and rode him for a bit. It was nice to see someone else on him. I told her she can ride him whenever she wants...he goes really well for her, and he needs the exercise! Poor boy. He's not sure what to think about being back in work, but I think he's enjoying himself. He looks SO cute. Not that I'm biased :)

Jodi was my first horse. My sister & I bought him when I was almost 15, and he's stuck around. He was the first horse I ever showed, the first horse I ever fell off of, and the horse that taught me how to ride. He's my best friend and I'd be lost without him. Luke was born in Ohio and purchased as a weanling by someone who took him to Texas. He raced as a 4 year old in Texas, and came back to Ohio his 5 year old year. He ran for most of his 5 year old year before they decided he didn't want to be a racehorse. He ran 14 times and never hit the board. His last race was September 11, 2006, and I bought him on October 6, 2006. He came home a week later, and we began the process of getting to know each other. He was my first OTTB, and he has taught me so much. Our eventual goal is eventing...we're finally on our way!
